If all the doors on your car automatically lock a few minutes after you start driving, this will do nothing but annoy you for the entire lifetime of the car. If you ever actually were in some kind of distress, like you were about to get carjacked or something, then the feature won’t help you anyway—in a panic you will unlock the doors, thinking they needed locking, but actually what you accomplished was exactly the opposite.

The criminal will take advantage of this confusion.
