If you’re at your gate, waiting for your zone to be called so you can board the plane, don’t get too close, otherwise you’re the idiot blocking the way. But don’t get too far away, or else a million idiots will box you out. The correct answer is to maintain a very particular distance from the gate and stand there with strong body language, trying to look casual, but really you’re quite attentive and ready to step forward aggressively.
